SCAR MANAGEMENT

• Please adhere to your physician’s protocol for this product
• Begin using RCP Scar Management when stitches are removed (or dissolved) and when the wound is fully closed with no scabbing (typically 2 weeks after surgery)
• Use consistently morning and night for a minimum of 12 weeks. If you are prone to hypertrophic scars or keloids you may use safely for 6 months or as needed (there are no restrictions for continued use).
• Wash the affected area with a mild soap such as RCP Gentle Cleanser and pat dry.
• MORE IS NOT BETTER! A little silicone gel goes a long way.
• Apply roughly a pea size amount for a 2”x4” area and massage onto the skin. For smaller or larger areas adjust accordingly.
• If application feels excessively tacky or thick, you’ve applied too much. Simply wipe away the excess until dry.
• Reapplication may be needed when used on areas that require frequent washing or are exposed to excessive rubbing.

Cleansing Tip

When cleaning face or body, don’t vigorously scrub the skin, which can cause irritation and reopen incisions.  Instead, allow water to gently run over affected area.  Be cautious when drying. Pat gently so the towel doesn’t pull on skin.

Apply a moderate to generous layer over affected area with clean hands or medical gloves. A little goes a long way. Repeat as needed. For optimal results use in conjunction with RCP Arnica Montana & Pure Bromelain.

PLUSH CLAY HOT/COLD PACK – FACE

A general rule of thumb is use ice for acute injuries or pain, along with inflammation and swelling; use heat for muscle pain or stiffness.

To Use Cold

• Freeze for at least 2 hours
• Pack should only be applied to the relief area for the doctor recommended time of 20 minutes

To Use Hot

• Wrap pack in moist cloth or paper towel.
• Microwave for 30 seconds, add additional 10-second intervals until desired temperature is reached
• Before reheating, check if the temperature of any parts of the pack is too high, (normally occurs at the edge of the pack) and knead the clay to evenly distribute heat.

Helpful Hints

For longer shelf life, keep pack in freezer while not in use

Warnings

The pack is not machine washable. Packs can be cleaned with a mild soap, detergent, or alcohol. Do not place any heavy objects on top of pack. Discard pack if punctured. Do not eat clay. Do not use on infants. Heating pack beyond the time stated above is not recommended.
